Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data Landid collects, why, who processes it, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have. We have tried to write it plainly. If anything is unclear, email us and we will explain.
1. Who we are
Landid is an AI job-search tool based in Jamaica. In this policy, “Landid,” “we,” “us,” and “our” mean the team that operates Landid. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Questions or requests: [email protected].
2. Information we collect
- Account information from Google sign-in: your name, email address, and profile picture. Google sign-in is the only way to create an account, and we never receive your Google password.
- Profile information you provide: job title, location and home country, work history, achievements, skills, education and certifications, languages, projects, employment status, years of experience, and your job preferences. Your home country is used to work out which jobs you are eligible for.
- Résumé text: if you upload a résumé, your browser reads the text on your device and sends that text to our AI providers to fill in your profile and to tailor your applications. We do not store the original résumé file.
- Google Calendar data (only if you connect it): if you choose to connect your calendar, we request read-only access to your calendar events to detect likely interviews and suggest moving an application forward on your tracker. We do not write to your calendar, and you can disconnect at any time in Settings, which removes our access.
- Activity in the service: the jobs matched to you, matches you view or save, applications you track, notes you add, your settings, and usage records such as feature limits and a last-active timestamp. We also keep anonymous, internal signals about which matches were useful (for example, that a match was saved or dismissed) to improve the quality of future matches.
- Billing information: if you subscribe, our payment provider (Lemon Squeezy) processes your payment. We do not see or store your full card details. We store billing identifiers and status (such as a customer and subscription ID, plan, subscription status, and renewal date) so we can give you the right level of access.
- Support and safety reports: if you report a problem or flag a listing, we store your message and the report so we can act on it.
- Waitlist: if you join before accounts open, we collect your email and country.
- Testimonials: only the information you choose to submit and consent to display.
- Technical and diagnostic data: to keep the service secure and working, our providers process technical data such as your IP address, device and browser information, and error diagnostics.
3. How we use your information
- To match remote jobs to your profile and filter out roles you are not eligible for.
- To help you tailor your résumé and applications, and to track your search.
- To send you service messages and job notifications (see your choices in section 9).
- To process payments and manage your subscription.
- To respond to your support and safety reports.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fraud, and fix problems.
- To improve our matching using the internal signals described above.
We do not make hiring decisions, and we do not apply to jobs on your behalf without you. You decide what to submit, and you submit it yourself.
4. Our legal basis
We process your data to provide the service you asked for (to perform our agreement with you), with your consent where you give it (for example, connecting your calendar or enabling notifications), to meet legal obligations, and for our legitimate interest in keeping Landid secure and improving it. If you are in Jamaica, this processing is carried out in line with the Data Protection Act, 2020.
5. Who processes your data
We share data only with providers who process it on our behalf to run Landid:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and storage of your data.
- Google — sign-in, and Calendar access if you connect it.
- OpenAI and Anthropic (Claude)— automated processing of your profile and résumé text to power matching and tailoring.
- Lemon Squeezy — payment processing and subscription billing (our merchant of record).
- Resend — sending email.
- Cloudflare — security, bot protection (Turnstile), and delivery.
- Netlify — application hosting.
- Sentry — error monitoring and diagnostics.
Job listings come from third-party sources such as Adzuna and remote-job boards. We query them to bring listings to you; we do not send your personal data to them.
6. International transfers
Some of our providers operate outside Jamaica, including in the United States, so your data may be processed there. Where we transfer data internationally, we rely on providers that offer appropriate safeguards for the data they handle.
7. What we do not do
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it for third-party advertising. We do not send your data to employers or job boards. We never ask you to pay a fee to apply for a job or to be matched.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
We use a secure sign-in cookie to keep you logged in, and your browser’s local storage to remember preferences such as your theme. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
9. Your choices and rights
You are in control of your data:
- Access and edit: you can view and update your profile at any time.
- Download your data: you can export a copy of your personal data from Settings.
- Delete your account: you can delete your account and data from Settings.
- Notifications: email job notifications are on by default; you can turn them off in Settings.
- Calendar: you can disconnect Google Calendar at any time, which removes our access.
- Withdraw consent for any processing based on consent, and ask us to correct or delete your data.
To make any request you cannot complete in the app, email [email protected] and we will action it. If you are in Jamaica, you have rights under the Data Protection Act, 2020, including the right to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Information Commissioner.
10. Data retention
We keep your information while your account is active. If you delete your account or ask us to delete your data, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period (we aim for 30 days), except for limited records we must keep to meet legal, tax, or security obligations.
11. Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit, database-level access controls that restrict each account to its own data, and bot protection on public forms. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Children
Landid is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
13. Changes
We may update this policy. We will change the date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you.
